Grade 3 Remote Learning

Grade 3 has set up a Google Classroom to share lessons and remote learning activities.  Be sure to check the UA and Specialist Remote Learning page for more ideas and activities.

Dear Families,
Enclosed please find materials for three weeks of home study. Students should have all of the materials needed to complete assignments, however we have included options for extended learning with online resources as well. Please see below for daily/weekly expectations in reading, writing, word work, and math. Students should fill out their home learning log each day reflecting the activities they have completed. Completed logs and assignments should be returned when school resumes.
Throughout the next few weeks, our goal is to check in with students regularly to answer any questions and support them in their learning. Third graders have been provided with individual email accounts and are encouraged to email us regularly. We will be sending an email to students in the next few days with more information, so please assist them in logging into their email accounts and let us know if you run into any problems. Parents, we will also be emailing you throughout this process to see if there is anything else we can do to support your child. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Ms. Morse &
Mrs. Shepherd

READING
Choose one Scholastic News to focus on for the week. Read at least one article per day, either from the paper copy or online, and record the title of the article(s) on your learning log. The online version has fun little extras such as videos, vocabulary, and the ability to have articles read aloud, so we encourage you to check this out if you can.
Scholastic News can be accessed online at Scholastic.com. Click on “Log In”, then “I am a Student”, and type in classroom password: scesthirdgrade
Complete the enclosed reading skills sheets for the Scholastic News.
By the end of each week, complete the activity page and quiz on the back of the Scholastic News you have been working on.
EACH DAY please read to self for at least 30 minutes. Record the book title and time spent reading to self on your home learning log.
